Zoo worker in gorilla suit shot with tranquiliser dart during ‘escape drill’ because no-one told the vet it wasn’t real. The 35-year-old employee was shot on Monday at Tenerife’s Loro Parque. Staff were taking part in a drill to ensure they plan in case a gorilla escaped. The man was taken to a hospital on the Spanish island, but is now doing well.
